About You and The Role

Zipline’s Integration, Structures, and Mechanisms Team is a multi-disciplinary hardware team responsible for building and maintaining Zipline’s engineering prototype fleet. This role will have you working closely and learning from our design and development teams as you bring to life carbon fiber composite prototypes.

What You'll Do

• Support early prototyping and testing activities by building, reworking, and repairing carbon fiber composite hardware.
• Provide design and fabrication feedback to Design Engineers, as well as work closely with them to progress through issues that come up during fabrication.
• Maintain tools and fixtures used for composite layups.
• Meet aggressive deadlines, and provide support as needed during testing.
• Have a quick and flexible approach to problem solving, task juggling, and collaboration.
• Communicate build results, ideas, and problems to supervisor and Design Engineers
• Escalate build issues through the proper channels and drive to resolution.
• Maintain Composite Build Shop in a neat and organized fashion.
• Be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Be comfortable with working long hours when required to achieve deadlines.

What You'll Bring

• High School diploma or equivalent. AS degree preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in composites prototyping and repairs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail married with the ability to work quickly.
• Quality focused with the ability to manage your time across multiple competing tasks and priorities.
• Able to lift 30-50 pounds on a daily basis and to maintain a safe working environment.
