About You and The Role

The Enterprise Systems team is responsible for the operating system of Zipline – we develop critical applications that enable the manufacturing, maintenance, and service of our drone delivery system. Our team is currently creating and improving systems to optimize various aspects of our operations across the business, such as within finance, supply chain, inventory, manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering tools.

We are seeking a dynamic Lead Systems Engineer to oversee our suite of engineering tools, responsible for managing the tools utilized in designing and releasing parts, such as NX. In this role, you will lead a small team of system engineers, ensuring the health, configuration, and change management processes of these systems. You will drive customizations and integrations into the ERP system, collaborating closely with software engineers and product managers. Additionally, you will work with users to define the roadmap for tool enhancements and resolve issues to optimize user experience.

What You'll Do

• Lead a small team of system engineers responsible for managing engineering tools, ensuring system health and functionality.
• Oversee the configuration and change management processes within the tools, ensuring alignment with best practices and business requirements.
• Drive customizations and integrations of engineering tools into the ERP system, collaborating closely with software engineers and stakeholders.
• Work with users to understand their needs and challenges, resolving issues to optimize user experience
• Partner with stakeholders to develop a vision for the tools and space, creating and driving a roadmap to improve efficiency, productivity, and innovation within the engineering domain.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in engineering tools and systems, incorporating relevant advancements into our toolset to maintain a competitive edge.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related technical field, with a focus on managing engineering tools.
• Proven experience in system health management, configuration, and change management processes.Strong technical proficiency in engineering tools and systems, with the ability to drive customizations and integrations into the ERP system.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate with users to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and drive solutions.
• Strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and communicate a vision for the tools and space, aligning with business objectives and driving initiatives forward.
• 3 years of demonstrated people management experience, with a proven ability to mentor and develop individuals

What Else You Need to Know

The starting cash range for this role is $170,000 - $210,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. The total compensation package for this role may also include: equity compensation; overtime pay; discretionary annual or performance bonuses; sales incentives; benefits such as medical, dental and vision insurance; paid time off; and more.
