About Zipline
About You and The Role
Our aircraft and ground equipment are the tools that enable our mission. Our Manufacturing Teams produce those tools; our Flight Operations teams are the dedicated women and men who operate those tools, and Production Planning connects those functions by translating demand generated by new deployments and sustaining operations into production plans, conducting analyses to support production capacity changes well in advance of realized demand.
The ideal Production Planner is keenly aware of the connection between the demand forecast, the product plan, the demand plan, the production plan and the supply plan. They are familiar with and appreciate an environment where individuals carry tremendous responsibility and where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded. The right candidate enjoys work, thrives on daily interaction with a global team and has a keen understanding of how to work with and motivate them.
What You'll Do
- Support manufacturing by creating production schedules that reconcile production capacity with demand for fabricated (MAKE) and purchased (BUY) components.
- Perform analyses that support defining the roadmap for production capacity increases and change.
- Work with manufacturing and supporting functions to establish and improve processes (e.g. production batch sizes, material transfer processes and controls) for line-side delivery.
- Respond to unanticipated changes—e.g. production shortfall vs. schedule or material shortages: Provide information, impact assessment, and options to leadership and downstream customers, revise production schedules or fabricated components mix as needed.
- In coordination with Supply Planners, generate, publish and maintain production performance metrics and forecasts showing risk to supply of fabricated components vs. demand.
- Communicate plans, plan revisions, and actual vs. plan to all Manufacturing, support, and business stakeholders.
- Assist in implementing systematic solutions to control inventory flow, minimize shortages.
- Collaborate with Supply chain and Engineering to coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to plan for material and product end of life and minimize obsolescence.
What You'll Bring
- BS industrial engineering/operations research, supply chain management or another quantitative.
- Demonstrated high volume production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally with 1 + years’ experience structuring and building analytical models.
- MS Excel experience required (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, INDEX/MATCH). More advanced Excel modeling skills are a plus.
- Working knowledge of Sisense and/or Tableau data visualization.
- Experience working in SAP or other ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally with key stakeholders
