About You and The Role

The Maintenance Operations Manager position within our Maintenance Leadership Team plays a crucial role in change management, ensuring technical operations publications are high-quality and meet regulatory requirements while being responsive to our operating needs. As a member of a team dedicated to driving rapid advancements in our US commercial operations, you'll join a highly responsible organization that skillfully adapts to address customer, regulatory and business requirements. Success will require attention to detail, flexibility, and enthusiasm for driving continuous improvement in our Part 135 Maintenance Program and the ability to intepret and apply standards.

The Maintenance Operations Manager is responsible for the overall administration of our existing manual system required for our Part 135 operation. Among other publications, this includes our General Maintenance Manual (GMM) and Engineering Authorizations /Orders (EA/EO). The position revises the GMM based on technical support guidance and includes any related policy/procedure revisions that may arise from either regular updates or more immediate triage needs. This role can be located at our headquarters in South San Francisco, CA or our Remote Operations Center outside of Charlotte, NC.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure maintenance team has timely access to clear publications that meet the requirements of 14 CFR 43.13
  • Review, create and incorporate changes into the maintenance program (e.g., Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other OEM technical publication revisions)
  • Assist in driving operational uptime through quick handling of technical escalations and production of required publications
  • Coordinate with other Maintenance team leadership to ensure quality and training impacts are considered and updates are implemented
  • Interact with FAA representatives, program leadership and technical experts to produce a manual system that allows us to operate safely and efficiently in a fully compliant manner.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in a Part 121/135 maintenance & engineering operation - specifically, awareness of the regulatory requirements and practices used when operating under a CAMP (Continuous Airworthiness and Maintenance Program)
  • Minimum of two years experience responsible for the performance of maintenance on commercial UAS or similar commercial aerospace experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator, including the ability to develop technical content that is subject to regulatory review
  • Experience with developing process and procedure for use by operations teams in safety critical and highly regulated industries
  • Ability to travel ~15% as needed to support US operations
  • Eligible to work in US
  • FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (“A&P”)
  • Procedure reviews/updates focused on process improvement (i.e., cycle time, LEAN, time study, etc.)
  • Technical writing capabilities
  • Experience with production control and/or task card creation & updates
