As a Hardware Compliance Engineer on our Hardware team, you will lead certification efforts for Verkada’s newest safety & security products. Hardware Compliance Engineers partner with our Hardware Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Program Managers to navigate the new product introduction process; you will own regulatory efforts from concept definition through to mass production & shipping across the globe.
  • Serve as the Alarms team’s subject matter expert for certifications relevant to our next generation of safety & security products. Steer all-new hardware products through a growing set of global compliance requirements.
  • Work directly with EE, ME and ID team members to develop and validate high performing design solutions. Translate safety standards into clear product requirements & test plans.
  • Get hands on with hardware testing and troubleshooting. Help EE and ME counterparts overcome compliance and certification challenges throughout all testing and validation phases.
  • Drive key compliance related deliverables. Define key requirements, develop test plans, own technical documentation and coordinate various testing efforts with external labs or regulatory bodies.
  • Play a key role in global market access. Lead research, planning and documentation for compliance initiatives across the globe.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical or mechanical design, validation and debug.
  • Strong track record of success developing, manufacturing and shipping new electronic products.
  • Prior exposure to or willingness to deep dive into compliance standards relevant to Verkada product safety (e.g. UL 62368-1, UL 2610, EN 50131, UL 294, UL 2905, etc).
  • Excellent organizational skills and written and verbal communication.
  • Flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally up to 15%.
  • Direct experience leading compliance / regulatory efforts for relevant hardware products.
  • Exposure to wireless & EMC related standards in addition to product safety.
  • Experience working with overseas vendors & an international supply chain.
