As the Senior/Staff Software Engineer on the Growth team, you will play an integral role in building and scaling our growth systems. Through “hack-iness,” business intuition, and advanced problem solving, you will be critical in driving an efficient and scalable growth motion. The features you build will be highly visible to both internal and external stakeholders and will directly impact the growth of the company by providing a state of the art platform and measurement capabilities to enable our product and marketing teams to effectively deliver highly personalized and relevant marketing campaigns to the right people at the right timing with right content at scale.

Responsibilities

Develop technology solutions focusing on digital marketing, including lead generation, prospect pipeline development, customer journey mapping, and other marketing engineering facets.
Create and implement marketing automation solutions and data models to facilitate personalized marketing strategies and enhance customer experiences.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Design teams to interpret complex business needs, detail feature specifications, and execute them, thereby enhancing the end-user experience.
Guide and lead engineering teams, both within and external to your immediate group, in crafting and deploying these technological solutions.
Foster a culture committed to technical excellence, from the initial design phase through code review and into production operations.
Own the design, development, deployment, and innovation of advanced functions in the strategic area of generative AI to drive business impact and improve customer experience

Requirements

6+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast-paced tech environment with a BS/Masters or 3+ years with a PhD.
Experience leading and shipping large initiatives with high business impact.
Experience owning software architecture and API design
Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality
Ability to learn new systems / technologies quickly
Ability to communicate cross-functionally, derive requirements, and architect solutions without a PM
(preferred) Proficiency in python

Pay Disclosure

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
