We are seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to join our team as the Director of Sales Strategy and Planning. In this critical role, you will lead the strategic planning and analysis for our sales organization, providing invaluable insights to drive revenue growth and optimize sales performance.


  • Divisional Operation Models: Develop and execute comprehensive financial models to support the sales organization. Collaborate with the Sales leadership team to create and manage the Divisional Operation Models to drive headcount, quota capacity, and expense management across the sales divisions. Track performance against those targets and provide accurate and timely financial reporting, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Strategy and Analysis: Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to evaluate new strategies and opportunities for growth across the organizations. Utilize historical data, market trends, and sales pipeline analysis to provide insights that help the organization evaluate new initiatives and programs.
  • Sales Compensation and Incentive Programs: Oversee the design, implementation, and management of sales compensation plans and incentive programs. Collaborate with Sales leadership to align compensation strategies with sales goals, ensuring they drive desired behaviors and motivate high performance. Regularly evaluate and adjust compensation plans to reflect market trends and support sales effectiveness.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Finance, Sales, Operations, and Sales Operations teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of financial strategies and objectives. Act as a trusted partner to Sales leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations to drive business growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing Sales Strategy and Planning team. Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages continuous learning and growth.


  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a high-growth technology or software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment.
  • Strong understanding of sales finance, revenue forecasting, sales operations, and pricing strategies.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial planning software and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear and actionable insights for business leaders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic mindset with strong business acumen and the ability to think holistically about sales and financial objectives.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Pay Disclosure

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. This estimate can vary based on the factors described above, so the actual starting annual base salary may be above or below this range. This estimate is also just one component of Verkada’s total rewards package. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
