Relay Robotics’ mission is to put robots into the world to help people. Our model is to provide a global fleet of service robots on a RaaS basis. Our robots are fully autonomous, projecting a polite and cute personality and functioning as valued team members working alongside their human counterparts. Thanks to our sophisticated integration capabilities and highly flexible software apps, each new deployment requires an installation process that can involve a variety of Relay team members, customer personnel and 3rd party vendors. The Project Manager provided a pivotal role in delivering an efficient process that supports our rapidly expanding business; and in providing an excellent customer experience throughout each engagement.

Responsibilities

Plan, assign and manage projects to install, upgrade or repair robots at customer sites, leveraging Relay field engineering staff as well as partners’ field personnel.
Engage with customers and their vendors to ensure site prep work is done in advance of arrival, and to facilitate assistance as needed by field technicians.
Provide “air support” to field personnel, including tasks such as editing the robots’ navigation maps, configuring network connections and phone systems, and engaging with members of the Engineering or Operations team for in-depth troubleshooting.
Maintain organized and complete records of field work status, issues, communications etc. - serve as the focal point of the organization for real-time updates on projects.
Drive each project schedule to ensure completion in the minimum time with minimum waste.
Provide frequent updates to stakeholders, before, during and after installation, to ensure that they are kept in the loop and feel well taken care of.
Collaborate with technical writing staff to contribute to the creation of project planning tools, work instructions, customer guides, or other materials that help customers achieve maximum value from their robot service.

Qualifications

BS in an Engineering or hard science field
Proven background in project management, PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
Charm, tenacity and people skills to ask, remind, and cajole many different participants to complete their deliverables for a project - the ideal candidate is likable and hard to say “no” to!
Excellent organizational and planning skills and disciplined record keeping habits
Requires strong computer skills and a basic level of networking / IT knowledge. Familiarity with command line interface, especially Linux, is desirable
Experience collaborating with highly technical people in a software development, networking or other IT-centric environment
