Today, fertility clinics help people make babies. One of the bottlenecks of fertility is the embryology lab. It is an extremely laborious manual process, as embryos are made by hand. At Overture we are automating the embryology lab in order to make IVF more available, affordable and reliable. Overture is a global start up with offices in US, UK and Spain which aims to revolutionize embryology.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for establishing and managing the accounting operations of our growing company, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting operations, financial reporting, and process documentation, with a preference for those with a background in the manufacturing or medical device industries.

This role demands a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to lead process improvement initiatives that will scale with our company. Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement & Automation:

• Lead and implement system and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to company policies while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
• Reengineer workflows and processes to drive efficiency through automation.

Accounts Payable (AP):

• Oversee cash management and periodic internal reporting.
• Manage vendor invoice processing and ensure timely payments.

Accounts Receivable (AR):

• Manage the AR process, including cash applications, credit and collections, billing, and bad debt review.
• Conduct accounts receivable aging reviews and ensure accurate reporting.

Management Reporting:

• Perform monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis.
• Prepare and present management reports to the executive team.

ERP Implementation Support:

• Assist in the implementation of the ERP system, including process documentation and training.

Communication & Reporting:

• Prepare periodic financial reports for the Board of Directors and investors.
• Ensure clear and accurate presentation of financial information.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in operational accounting functions.
• Preferably 2 years of experience in public accounting (auditing).
• Experience in the manufacturing or medical devices sector is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

• Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent communication skills in both languages.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; Netsuite experience is required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and global environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
