Solutions Engineer

Remote, Full-time

About Us

At Novi Connect, our mission is to power the future of consumer product development for healthier people and the planet.
We’re building the platform that combats greenwashing and allows customers to shop with confidence by properly vetting clean and sustainability claims at the ingredient, product, packaging and brand level.
The opportunity for more transparent and sustainable products is vast – $1.5T market in consumer product development – and while we started in the beauty and personal care category, we’re growing to serve a broader set of markets, including food, household cleaning, and more.
Novi is well funded by top-tier venture capital investors, and has seen rapid growth and traction. If you’re interested in building the future of the clean and sustainable products industry, we’d love to hear from you.

What We're Looking For

Today, Novi works with major retailers, top global CPGs, and hundreds of the fastest-growing beauty and personal care brands. The industry we're tackling is fragmented and complex, and the value we can bring is enormous.
We are seeking a strategic, technically adept, and experienced Solutions Engineer to join our team. This unique role is designed for a seasoned leader who will play a pivotal role in defining and executing strategies for both Solutions Engineering and Project Management within Novi. You will be instrumental in driving our mission forward by supporting our commercial sales strategies and leading complex program deployments with our retail partners.

In This Role, You Will:

Solutions Engineering:
Serve as a key technical and regulatory advisor to the sales team, leading the development of pre-sales strategies tailored to enterprise retail clients.
Design and validate complex, scalable solutions that align with customer requirements and Novi Connect’s platform and data capabilities.
Assist in writing effective proposals, scopes of work, and completing RFIs and RFPs, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company capabilities.
Establish and refine best practices and playbooks for the Solutions Engineering function, setting high standards for technical excellence.
Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and customer success teams to influence the product roadmap based on customer insights.
Project Management:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, strategic enterprise retail programs, serving as the primary point of contact for the customer.
Develop and implement comprehensive playbooks for project management to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality projects.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders, ensuring alignment and successful project outcomes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Project Management function, refining processes to deliver greater value to customers.

Role Focus and Time Allocation

This role is expected to be roughly 50/50 in terms of focus between Solutions Engineering and Project Management. However, the actual time and effort spent on each function may vary depending on sales activities and key project deployments. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize based on business needs will be essential for success.
As the key member of our sales team, you will also play a central role in building out the necessary frameworks. This will also have potential to lead to a leadership opportunity as the team expands.

About you

7+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales, Project Management, or a related leadership role, with a strong background in the chemicals and consumer packaged goods industry, with specific focus on product stewardship, chemical regulatory compliance, product safety, and product labeling regulations.
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Regulatory Affairs, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering). An advanced degree in a related discipline is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EPA, ISO) with experience in interpreting and applying these in a corporate or client setting.
Proven ability to manage and deliver complex, enterprise-scale software or data projects with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly understand and articulate complex software architectures, data solutions, and chemical regulatory frameworks.
Excellent analytical skills with the capability to conduct chemical structural analysis and interpret complex regulatory requirements.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
Comfort in working with and developing new technology, and a passion for driving innovation in a high-growth environment.
