About us

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

About the role

Notion’s Creative Team is a group of strategists, designers, illustrators, filmmakers, writers, web engineers, and producers that deliver on all of Notion’s brand and creative expressions. We're looking for an experienced, process-oriented event producer who can help our team craft extraordinary user experiences.

Notion is looking for an Event Producer located in SF to join our Marketing team on a temporary basis. This individual will be needed from early April through mid-November on a 30-40 hours/week basis.

Events are a key pillar in Notion’s marketing strategy to deliver on ambitious revenue, brand awareness, and community growth goals. In this role, you’ll lead the operations and production of Notion’s largest event in 2024, creating process and systems to ensure success with both in-person and live-streamed experiences. You’ll work with our regional marketing teams to plan and execute a global strategy to reach Notion users worldwide, while partnering with our Community team to maintain the engagement of our passionate users that makes these events so special.

You will also collaborate with Senior Staff across Web Presence, Product Marketing, Content, and Growth teams to ensure we’re telling Notion’s story in an exciting and impactful way, covering everything from keynote prep to attendee experience and special brand activations/adjacencies.

What you’ll achieve

  • Lead the development, design, and execution of Notion’s marquee event, attracting thousands of attendees from all around the world
  • Manage event logistics and production from end-to-end, leading vendor relationships across custom fabrication, A/V, permitting, F&B, etc.
  • Project manage across different internal stakeholder priorities to tell a compelling and cohesive story through all event touchpoints
  • Develop event goals and work cross-functionally to track metrics that are critical to our success, such as promotion tactics, leads, and opportunities created
  • Work closely with Creative to deliver innovative on-site and digital experiences that engage and delight our users
  • Work closely with the Demand Gen team to deliver on our pipeline goals and working closely with our sales team to bring the right customers to the event
  • Work closely with the growth, social, and web presence teams to develop event promotion/launch plan strategies
  • Drive alignment across CMO and Senior Staff stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and mitigate production and resourcing risk / on-time and on-budget

Skills you’ll need to bring

  • 7+ years of experience as an Executive Producer, planning and leading a large-scale, in-person user conference in a tech and/or design-focused company. You must have exceptional domain expertise across event planning and management — bonus points if you’ve planned and run a B2B SaaS company user conference before!
  • Speed: You bias towards action and operate with ambition, creating repeatable processes that help your team do the same
  • Order agent: You love running the day-to-day operations — often multiple workstreams simultaneously — while keeping an eye on the larger prize, and are always seeking to turn ambiguity into clarity
  • Skilled executor: You’re able to operate at all altitudes within an organization, from scheduling executive reviews to planning sprints to ensuring talent gets paid on time
  • High EQ: you’re great at reading both people and rooms, and can adapt your operating style situationally

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Notion - bonus points for both personal and work use

We hire talented and passionate people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our global employee base to represent the wide diversity of our customers. If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every bullet point listed in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. If you’re a builder at heart, share our company values, and enthusiastic about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you.
