We accept most major PPO insurance products, and we offer convenient access to clinical care through telehealth visits, 24/7 messaging, and responsible prescribing of medications, supplements, and other therapies.

Where we’re based:

We are an entirely virtual company, and this opportunity is 100% remote. This role requires working hours from 8a - 5p PST

The Role:

  • Use Athena platform to troubleshoot telehealth claims, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to provide insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits information before telehealth appointments, and assist patients with understanding financial responsibilities and payment options.
  • Manage and collect patient accounts receivable (AR), following up on outstanding balances, denials, and insurance claims.
  • Use Zendesk to respond to patient inquiries and resolve billing issues promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in audits and reviews of billing data to identify discrepancies, errors, or trends impacting revenue cycle performance.
  • Stay informed of changes in healthcare regulations, payer policies, and billing requirements to maintain compliance and maximize revenue capture.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies and third-party billing vendors to resolve disputes, negotiate payment arrangements, and optimize reimbursement rates for telehealth services.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to enhance the patient experience, optimize RCM workflows, and implement technology solutions to streamline billing processes.

You may have:

  • 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
  • 2-3 years of experience in patient accounts receivable (AR) collection.
  • Experience using billing platforms like Athena, including familiarity with billing statements, payment plans, negotiating account balances, and responding to patient billing inquiries.
  • Experience with Zendesk or similar customer support platforms is preferred.
  • Understanding of medical billing processes, healthcare reimbursement principles, and coding guidelines (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
  • Bonus points if you have telehealth experience.
