The Opportunity at Komodo Health
The Technical Solutions team works with our customers to architect, design, and deliver technical solutions that meet their requirements across Komodo’s entire suite of products and platforms. The forward deployed engineering team works within this organization to bring technical rigor and engineering excellence towards solving our largest client’s needs.
As the head of the forward deployed engineering function, you will work closely with leaders from our Data, Product, Engineering, and Commercial functions to set the strategy for Komodo’s solutions, while also providing technical and people leadership for teams of Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, and Product Delivery Engineers.
You will have ultimate accountability for the delivery of Komodo’s products and platforms, including the stewardship of our culture of collaboration and trust, while launching high quality products and solutions aligned with our mission to lower the global burden of disease.
Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…
- Worked with key stakeholders across our Commercial, Data, Product, and Engineering teams to continuously iterate on Komodo’s product / platform / solutions roadmap.
- Collaborated with members of the Technical Solutions Leadership Team and other cross-functional leadership teams to optimize how we deliver, service, and support Komodo’s solutions.
- Implemented process and/or organizational changes necessary to realize the improvements in efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction for solution delivery.
- Provided coaching and mentorship to members of the forward deployed engineering team in both technical and people management situations, especially in support of hitting both our corporate objectives and hiring targets.
- Partnered with our Customer’s technical leaders to develop and deliver against specific requirements with Komodo’s solutions.
What you bring to Komodo Health
- A deep understanding of how cross-functional teams work at a software product company.
- Extensive management experience of large, cross-functional teams including previous direct management of technical functions (Engineering, Data Science, etc.).
- Experience with some combination of cloud infrastructure, data pipeline development, AWS managed services and working knowledge of a modern programming language (Python preferred), data pipeline engineering, relational database design, data science workflows, web platform development, API design, or distributed systems. You’re not required to be an expert in all of these areas, but it helps to be an expert in some.
- Experience leading recruiting initiatives, as well as growing and organizing engineering teams.
- Ability to work as part of an agile collaborative team in a fast-paced environment including strong experiences with continuous delivery product development lifecycle, capacity planning, and effective resource utilization.

The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of pay that we reasonably expect to pay across all U.S. locations and may span more than one career level. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.
Where You’ll Work
Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
