About your role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Sr. Revenue Accountant to join our team! In this position, you will support the revenue accounting processes in our fast-paced organization. You will have a strong background in accounting principles and will work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure timely and accurate treatment, recording, and reporting of revenue in accordance with ASC 606. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.
As a key member of our Accounting department, you will play a crucial role in owning and optimizing revenue processes. You will continually look for ways to help our team become more efficient and effective. You will keep your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support business objectives.
What you’ll do
Assist with ASC 606 revenue accounting analyses such as contract reviews, standalone selling price analysis and contract combination assessment.
Review revenue recognition schedules (including revenue waterfalls), deferred revenue waterfall, contract assets, and liabilities.
Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, including review procedures and flux analysis for revenue.
Assist in the preparation and documentation of technical accounting memos related to revenue recognition and other complex transactions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline the order-to-cash processes and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
Support annual financial audits.
Assist in the implementation and enhancement of revenue recognition software and systems
Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Month end reconciliations
Preparation of journal entries
Basic understanding of key revenue matrix including ARR, retention and churn
Qualifications
5+ years experience in accounting with at least 1 year experience in revenue accounting & revenue recognition
Strong analytical and problem-solving skill, with the ability to interpret complex contracts and financial data.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Proven experience in automating accounting processes and working with accounting software
Experience with Netsuite is a plus
Passion for learning, and the ability to adapt to changes and to comprehend complex topics quickly
Great interpersonal skills and work well with diverse cultures
SOX experience preferred
Ability to manage priorities and multi-task
Ability to work 2-3 hours a day in U.S. time zone for collaboration
