Your Role

As a Payroll Accountant, you will be part of the Dialpad Payroll Accounting Team, reporting to the Global Payroll Manager. You are detailed-oriented, self-motivated, a team-player and have exceptional customer service skills. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to supporting our international employees with all payroll relating activities, including management of timesheets, payroll processing and payment, partnering closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors for complete and accurate payroll processing and reporting, and preparing reconciliations and journal entries for accurate financial reporting of payroll activities.

What you'll do

• Work with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors to process payroll accurately and timely for international employees, as well as create payroll cases and process off-cycle adjustments as necessary.
• Monitor Time & Attendance timesheets and processing for non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.
• Directly assist with employee onboarding, including bank account set-up, payroll-related education, questions or issues for international employees.
• Assist with external audits through providing supporting records, as well as preparing reconciliations and summaries.
• Maintain organized and detailed payroll records, and ensure all payroll data and changes are accurately and completely reflected in the payroll and accounting systems.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for payroll activity and payroll relating accounts.
• Perform month-end close activities, including monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned payroll accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
• Contribute to the development, documentation and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
• Stay abreast of local compensation laws and regulations, and working with third-party vendors to ensure company compliance.
• Assist in resolving payroll issues through research, analysis, knowledge of best practices and proposal of reasonable solutions.
• Partner and build relationships with cross functional team members by providing timely responses to questions, issues and updates.
• Assist in other payroll and accounting related duties as assigned.

Skills you'll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 5+ years of accounting experience (including payroll accounting support).
• CPA or equivalent a plus.
• Experience with accounting, tax and finance concepts relating to payroll.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to work with internal and external parties while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Ability to work in a face-paced, dynamic, multi-priority environment while maintaining firm deadlines.
• Proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups), MS Word and Google Sheets.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle workload fluctuations and multiple requests.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge and mindset for automation and process improvements for scalability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
