Your Impact
Dedrone is growing and responding to the increasing demand. With this we are transitioning from small scale manufacturing to higher volume manufacturing facilitating excellence in efficiency and quality. The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is pivotal to drive a smooth and far aiming transition.
Location: Kassel, Germany
Reporting to: Dr. Gerd Fehlauer, Sen. Director of Operations
What You’ll Do
- Drive completeness of product assembly instructions collectively with the R&D team.
- Structuring of the production flow to accomplish high product flexibility for a 4x output capability over the next 12 months.
- Implement lean and WIP reduction as result of optimized setup in layout, flow and planning.
- Develop, implement, and maintain equipment and tooling to enable manufacturing e.g. customized jigs, electrical screwdrivers potentially up to small automatization and robotics.
- Close collaboration with the production team, R&D and QA enabling effective response to manufacturing challenges or quality issues.
- Maintain knowledge of state of the art in industry as well as level with Axon manufacturing to support an harmonized approach.
- While reporting to the senior management at the Kassel location you maintain close interaction with your peer Manufacturing Engineers at Axon.
- Guiding progress goes jointly with sharing knowledge an promoting the concepts of Lean, 5S and Six Sigma.
What You Bring
- Degree in Manufacturing engineering, black belt, lean or and equivalent working experience.
- Structural improvements of the manufacturing flow I a medium volume (thousands per year) electrical units assembly setup. Proven record of implementation of production and intralogistics, process definition and documentation.
- Experience with production setup, matrixes to assess performance and evaluate potential solutions.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Methodologies.
- A good way to explain the pros and cons of changes and why it might help.
