The Product Management role at Crunchbase is a vital and strategic position that collaborates closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and legal departments. The person in this role is tasked with overseeing both the strategy and execution within their domain. Their responsibilities range from addressing minor issues, referred to as "paper cuts," to driving major initiatives, known as "boulders." This role is designated as an Individual Contributor, emphasizing a focus on personal responsibility and initiative in delivering outstanding products to our customers.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the development of a robust technical foundation designed to support advanced predictions, insights, and machine learning models.
• Cultivate deep customer understanding and champion their needs, ensuring their tasks are prioritized not only within your team but across the entire organization.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, and Product Marketing, employing an agile and iterative approach to develop and launch new features.
• Work in tandem with Business Development to identify and integrate innovative data points that enhance the Crunchbase offering.
• Coordinate with leadership to develop and implement a strategic product roadmap for your area.
• Foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, industry experts, and thought leaders.
• This role is pivotal, focusing on our core data and serving the needs of internal product teams.

What We’re Looking For:

• Technical Expertise: You should have a comprehensive understanding of data infrastructure, architecture, databases, ETL processes, cloud services, and data security. This knowledge is vital for effective collaboration and communication with engineering teams, including managing dependencies and understanding the broader impacts of product decisions. A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical product roles is preferred.

• Data Analytics Skills: Proficiency in using data analysis tools, familiarity with statistical concepts, and the ability to interpret data trends are crucial. Product managers should be adept at drawing insights from data and using analytics to guide product development strategies.

• Market Insight and Customer Focus: A deep understanding of the market and customer needs, particularly in data management, is essential. This includes the ability to gather and analyze customer feedback, conduct market research, and translate these insights into meaningful product enhancements.

• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Strong communication skills are required for effective interaction with technical teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional groups. The ability to clearly convey complex technical ideas to a diverse audience is crucial.
