The Role

Reporting to the Head of Public Engagement, the Visual Media Designer will advance the communication of Cellino’s value proposition by directing the creation and development of multimedia pieces including but not limited to videos, graphics, websites, illustrations, presentation decks, and animations. These deliverables will be used to bolster company messaging across all channels, including investors, media, and potential partners.

Leveraging their storytelling experience in developing multimedia assets for scientific audiences, the Visual Media Designer will develop a deep understanding of Cellino’s technology in order to develop compelling and scientifically accurate multimedia pieces that communicate Cellino’s key messages in ways that drive the achievement of business and scientific goals. This is a full-time position based on site at Cellino's office in Cambridge, MA.

  • Graphic Design: Creating scientifically accurate visual content for digital marketing materials, social media, company website, and promotional campaigns across all audiences relevant for Cellino.
  • Video Production: Producing, managing, and editing videos with precision and high quality for various platforms including social media (particularly LinkedIn and X/Twitter), corporate events, and internal communications. Assets will be created for both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • Presentation Design: Designing and editing impactful presentation decks and infographics for events such as public speaking engagements and partner meetings.
  • Brand Stewardship: Ensuring all visual content aligns with the company’s branding guidelines and contributes to a cohesive brand identity.
  • Technical Communication: Translating technical concepts into easily understandable explainer videos and other design solutions to communicate Cellino’s value proposition and drive value for our key audiences.
  • Collaborative Development: Serving as lead designer for external and select internal multimedia items, working in collaboration with the Head of Public Engagement and other members of the Leadership Team. Facilitate brainstorming and design meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management: Working closely with printers, photographers, and other external vendors to ensure accurate production of final assets.


  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), Canva, and FIGMA
  • Strong copywriting and UX/UI design skills and experience creating visually appealing and strategically aligned designs
  • Strong proficiency with Google Suite, especially Google Slides (very important)
  • Solid portfolio of graphic and video assets that communicate complex scientific concepts elegantly and at the appropriate level for the audience
  • 4+ years of graphic design and video editing experience, preferably with a life sciences, technology, or biotechnology company or clients
  • Solid understanding of design principles, messaging hierarchy, typography, color theory, and layout techniques
  • Familiarity with AI tools and applications, particularly those relevant to design and content creation (like DALL-E, GPT, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as the candidate will need to interpret and transform ideas into compelling visual stories
  • Ability to work quickly and handle multiple projects at once while maintaining organization and deadlines

Nice-to-Have Skills and Background

  • A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, multimedia arts, or a related field
  • Advanced degree in a scientific discipline, especially a biology, engineering, or software field is a significant plus
  • Familiarity with AI tools for graphic and video design and enhancement—someone who enjoys learning about the latest technologies will thrive in this role
