Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, hello, hiya, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • You will create design briefing processes Canva/Figma/Adobe design templates that make it easy for HQ creatives to produce localisation-ready creative.
  • You will deliver localised mixed-media assets including on-platform media formats, animation, live action, and mobile-first video in collaboration with our creative agency partners.
  • You will lead regular communications with key stakeholders within the design specialty across multiple channels.
  • You will manage the performance and quality of creative agency partners.

Goals that you'll achieve:

As with any business experiencing fast growth, your role and its core areas of focus are likely to evolve significantly over time. We empower our people to adapt their own role for scale. Some of the key goals that you should be seeking to achieve over the coming 12 months and beyond to facilitate this are:

  • Create briefs for agency partners which incorporates existing insights about creative best practices and preferences in key international markets
  • Curate regionally relevant photography, graphics, and other design elements to make them easily available to agency partners and internal design teams
  • Scale creative guidelines and best practices documentation for localisation and internationalisation at several levels of depth and with many diverse stakeholders in mind
  • Establish a review process for localised creative produced by our agency partners
  • Establish a templated approach for the design specialty to follow that enables efficient localisation

You're probably a match if

  • You have 5+ years professional experience in producing creative video and motion content within a creative agency or client-side marketing team or similar organisations, with strong proficiency in design tools including Canva, Figma and Adobe AfterEffects
  • You have experience in all aspects of content creation, including pre-production, production, and post-production. Bonus points for having worked in a highly international marketing organisation or creative localisation role.
  • You have exceptional cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills with experience working in a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment. For this reason client-side experience, or client-facing agency-side experience, is preferred.
  • You have a strong motivation to build and work within a collaborative and respectful team dynamic. You lead by example and you’re able to give as well as receive effective feedback in a highly supportive manner.
  • Proficiency in a language other than English is a bonus but not critical to the role.

About the Global Services group

As a key part of Global Services, the Marketing Localisation team has a mission to supercharge global growth with scalable systems and inclusive international creative that engages Canva’s diverse audience.

About the Localisation sub-specialty
